Boys grown up suit

I did most of the sewing with the Bernette b38 but finished hems of trousers with the Novum coverlocker. This project was for a 7 year old, my grandson, who goes to a lot of weddings and Christenings. He loves being all dressed up like the men. This is the second suit he’s had from me. The material is wool and cotton for the shirt as well as a silky paisley lining for the jacket and waistcoat. I used 3 patterns. It took a lot of planning especially for the lapped fly on the trousers. I entered into our local agricultural show and won first prize in the over 60s craft section and overall cup winner for the whole craft section, even beating the woodwork bit! Chuffed. I would like to say my grandson was over the moon but ‘its just clothing’. That’s until he actually dresses up for a wedding!!
